Grace UMC is a United Methodist faith community striving to learn and follow the teachings of Jesus. Grace UMC believes it can live out those teachings. Through worship, study, prayer, service and shared meals, we learn about Jesus and work to be a positive change in the world through the power of God’s Spirit.

The Leadership Board is reviewing our Mission and Vision statements. As the world changes, so will the needs of our community. We ask ourselves how is Jesus calling us to extend his gifts of grace and mercy, justice and forgiveness in our world today.

Grace is empowered by the Holy Spirit to reach others with God’s justice and mercy, sharing God’s love and care in physical, emotional and spiritual ways.

Staff

Rev. Susan M. Youmans

Pastor Susan Youmans is a retired United Methodist Elder in Full Connection from The Michigan Conference of The United Methodist Church where she served for 18 years. Susan is a graduate from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. She moved to Sullivan, Missouri in 2023. She now serves as pastor here at Grace UMC.

Susan collects books she means to read someday, starts yarn and craft projects, and is busy building patio planters out of old pallets.

The best part of ministry for Susan is connecting God’s story to our human story, helping individuals discover how their story is part of God’s story of a whole and healed creation. Her favorite spiritual practices are Lectio Divina, biblical storytelling, and growing things–from plants in the garden to disciples and groups who transform the community.
